A surprising decision to rest new Skipper Varinder was even more interesting as Chopper was not recalled.
Gypsies batted first with Pirates only having 8 players in the field and they opened bowling with a Junior-style donkey-dropper. Opening partnership of 81 from Simon/Gilly. Pretty shite bowling mainly and were punished for it - Simon 88, Daryl 44no.
Jasper Cohen in first full match for the Gypsies opened the bowling - good spell of 2 for 30, including the bloke that got 180 previous week. Nathan handed the new ball also got 2 - including his 300th wicket - as they never really looked like getting the runs.
Good job in the covers from Cheal/Carr saved runs.
Gilly's third over took 3 wickets to clean them up but no hat trick in there - so duly fined. |
